Improving the emplacements in the morning. Major Daniell O.P. Essex RHA came this afternoon for a three day stay.

An interesting intelligence report in this evening: a Turkish and a German general are reported to have arrived at El Arish.

On duty at the O.Pip this evening.

The 1/5th Lowland Brigade was now designated the 263rd Artillery Brigade, the I/Ist Hants R.H.A. being "A" Battery. The decaville railway (2ft. 6in. gauge), from Port Said, had reached within a mile of Mahamdiya, and it was doubtful if that railway or the one from Romani would arrive first.
