Avenue Park was one of the three main areas of North Stoneham Park on the Stoneham Estate. (The other two areas of parkland were the Deer Park and the Rough Park.)

Present-day Avenue Park public park is a portion of the former Avenue Park, which was formerly known as The Further Avenue. It is owned and managed by Eastleigh Borough Council's Countryside Service. It preserves the area's parkland character, and forms a large public green space.

The Stoneham War Shrine was built in Avenue Park in 1917.
