    This sketch was presumably made by a member of the Willis Fleming family, and dates from around 1830. Its caption reveals the characters in the tableau to be: Val: Jones as Sir Stephen Harrowby; A R Dottin as Maria; and ‘Cindad’ (a dog?) as Sylvio.

    A R Dottin as Maria is, I think, Abel Rous Dottin (1769?-1852), who was a Member of Parliament for Southampton, and a friend of John Barton Willis Fleming.

    Can anyone provide more information about these characters and the people who played them?
